3 Reasons For A Five Minute Church

By Della Monroe

Most people visit religious institutions on a regular basis in order to create a spiritual connection with God. However, this is not always feasible for one reason or another for many individuals. The following is a look at a few of the reasons why a five minute church might be of interests to those who need something that is different from the normal way of doing things.

There are many people who are spiritual, but have no interest in the rituals that make up a religious organization. They understand that in order to be a part of large religious systems, there is a process of indoctrination that one has to go through. If they are not willing to accept a certain belief system, they will not be accepted as part of the group.

This will cause them to seek out a group of people with whom they can learn about these types of matters. However, there are times when the setting does not suit their personality or what they are looking for. So they decide on an alternative that does not involve hours of sermons, announcements, and other aspects of a religious service.

One might also live in an area where there are no religious groups nearby. This can be quite a lonely situation to be in especially if a person is used to being among people who believe as they do. Yet, more important to these individuals is the need to feed themselves spiritually even though there is no one in their area that shares their faith.

Yet, even though this is the case, many times one is more concerned about maintaining their connection with God. So they are willing to do what is necessary, even though it may not fit with what is traditional. This will allow them to create a ritual that will work for them no matter how far away they are from their place of origin.

A person might also want to take some time to figure out what they really believe. This is not an easy process for many and sometimes one has to try different systems before finding something that makes sense to them. Many times it might not resemble what they have been taught when they were growing up if their childhood home was very religious.

This means not adhering to certain rules and regulations that control how one worships. They find a way to express themselves in a spiritual context that feels real to them. There is no need to pretend to enjoy a long sermon that does not contain what a person needs to get through the week or day.

Some people might not feel the need to find a different way of maintaining their faith. Everyone is different and has a different way of seeing the world. This means that they have to find a way to nurture their spirituality. This is how they can create a new system of belief that works for them through a different way of worship that is right for the person.
