The Roots Of ACM And Where They Intend To Go

By Bob Oliver

American Casting and Manufacturing, a company that specializes in security seals, has a strong history that allows it to be the business that it is today. It should come as no surprise that seals are important, especially for businesses that plan on transporting large, physical goods across long distances. When it comes to the roots of the company in question, as well as where it intends to go, here is an overview that will provide the insight you may have been looking for.

For those that don't know, American Casting & Manufacturing is a company that was founded by two brothers: Henry L. C. Wenk Jr. and Norman B. Wenk. These brothers wanted to create a company that could help the construction industry, which was starting to blossom early into the 20th century. Along the way, they were able to provide a number of products to the industry in question. These include, but aren't limited to, bolts, nails, and castings.

Did you know that, prior to moving to Plainview, ACM operated out of Brooklyn? This worked for the company during the late 1910's, as it was just starting to come into its own as an authority on construction and security alike. As the company in question grew, however, more space was needed so that additional products could be made to meet demand. This led them to Plainview, complete with a larger facility to accommodate said demand.

Another goal that ACM has had was the expansion of security seal technology so that their products could become better. This is an understandable goal, but it had to be done while accounting for safety standards and regulations. The industries these apply to are numerous, including transportation, food and beverage, and oil and gas processing. These regulations are not only meant to protect these types of industries, but allow ACM to build better products for them as well.

The history of ACM is nothing short of rich, but the future of the company is just as important, if not more so. The company intends on continually manufacturing the products they've become known for, security seals included. For this to be done, however, the company must build and evolve in a number of ways. This can be done by training new employees on such topics as safety and manufacturing. Additionally, research must be invested in so that seals become better. The moving parts of ACM are numerous, each with its own level of importance.
