By learning how to become a professional dancer one is assured of a livelihood from the ever expanding entertainment industry. This venture requires awareness of the industry, what it requires and the opportunities available for those who choose this career path. The field offers a variety of options from dance genres, audience and performance platforms. A choice must be made on the market segment to focus.

The genres that are marketable include tap, jazz, salsa, hip hop and ballet, among others. To become the best in these dances, one is required to enroll into a dancing school for guidance by tutors. Some of the moves are complex and require careful guidance. The tutors are there to pinpoint mistakes and applaud when you do the right thing. You will stick within the rules of each genre. Consistent practice will bear more fruits. These sessions are either individual or group.

Dancing is best done in a group. Interested persons are required to join such groups because of their clear focus. They have a schedule that instills discipline. Discouragements will emanate from persons who do not believe that dancing is a serious career. Maintain focus on your goal, exercise and be patient.

A dancing career includes performances during video productions, tours or for shows on contract or as freelancers. Other troops perform at particular entertainment spots or in cruise ships on regular and scheduled basis. The two performance fields are distinct and unique. They require different skills considering that artists have a predictable trend while entertainment spots demand variety. This is a choice that dancers must make.

There are regular auditions by dance troops who only recruit the best. This means that aspiring dancers must be at the top of the game at all times. One rejection does not mean that you have lost the dream of getting professional. It only means that you try harder or a different genre from what you are doing. Follow the instructions and corrections made by the judges and you are destined for greatness.

The industry can be hard and harsh to penetrate and therefore requires a great deal of resilience. As a dancer, self esteem is important because it gives you the confidence to face the audience. The passion is displayed in the eyes and moves. The audience can tell how well you love what you are doing and will pick a cue from you. This means that they only enjoy what you enjoy.

Physical fitness and flexibility are basic requirements for any dancer. Some of the moves are very complex and must be approached with care and caution. One is required to be alert, creative and flexible in order to conquer the industry. Some performances do not give the troop all the time to rehearse. Choreography must be perfected in the shortest time possible.

There is money for those who understand how to become a professional dancer. Performances are assured in different parts of the world and in front of diverse audience. Your hard work and determination will bring you money. The dance industry keeps changing and professionals must keep updating their skills.
